AEM Intake For Ralliart!

So I picked up my car today from AEM in Hawthorne, CA. They are using my car to develop an intake system similar to the AEM intake for the X.
They had my car for one week and were kind enough to set me up with a rental car and when I got my car back today it was washed and fueled up.
Now that they got all the measurements it will take 2-3 months to finish up the intake.
From what I was told it will be similar to the one for the X but with a few improvements.
Good news is in about 3 months there will be a new low key/stealth Intake for our Ralliarts!

I would like to know how it would effect the cooling function if you used the vent for a cold air inlet to the new intake. If there was no negative effect to the modded intake I would say definitely do it!! Our engines run very hot and would be concerned about the engine bay temps.

Interesting...I've been looking at an enclosed air intake option for my RA for quite a while now and I am not willing to fork out the A$1500 for the Coltspeed option. Questions though:
Have you relocated your battery? Or have you got a mini battery kit installed? Are battery modifications necessary for this intake to be installed?
As for the CAI idea, what kind of modifications would be required to the hood, if any (apart from the vent)?

I'd get one in a heartbeat if it meant I can keep my original battery (crucial in cold temps) and if I didn't need to tune my car.
And using the original snorkel would probably be better, for engine cooling.

I can tell you that we will still use our original battery. The Box is being built behind the battery in the stock air box location.
Also the original snorkel will still be used!
As for not needing a tune... Im not to sure on that. You could probably get away with running it without a tune but im sure the car will have some knock. Id rather be on the safe side and get the car re-tuned.

just wondering, why aren't there any pics of the actual intake in your car? the first pic in the OP is from an Evo X
really skeptical of an intake that doesn't use up the space of the battery. Battery location seems to be the biggest restriction for intakes, main reason why I went ahead and got the AMS small battery. Any serious modding plans seems like it will require it sooner or later

and the box will replace ur OEM box.. but the filter inside will be a cone filter instead of a panel filter
(just like the on u see in OP picture)
when he says the snorkel will be reuse, that means the battery doesnt need to be relocated/replaced

Like i said in the original post, the picture i posted is of an AEM intake for the X. This was just for reference.
AEM now has all the measurements they need and the intake is under development. It should be ready in about 3 months.
Here are some cliff notes for everyone:
*AEM Ralliart intake is in development and will be ready in about 3 months
*The AEM intake will fit in the stock airbox location and will NOT need a small battery or battery relocation.
*The AEM intake WILL use the factory snorkel.
*The picture in the first post is of the AEM intake for the X. It is there for reference only.

sorry guess I should have read more carefully
I'm just skeptical of the effectiveness of intakes that sit behind the battery. I don't think the problem is the filter itself, but the way air flows too it. Going over the battery seems to bottleneck the air so much through the snorkel, compared to letting it flow directly at it (like the AMS SRI)
I'm sure many are awaiting performance gains! keep us updated!
