Not necessarily. In order to flash a spare ECU you would need to have both items to do so. In a way, my question is related because honestly if I could get my hands on an extra ECU, I'd do the same thing.

 

Naa. Its all good info. The more people reading/posting in here the better the info will get. I am still hoping someone who has done this will post in here and tell me how it all worked out. My original question.

 

Yeah the dealer will not look that in depth for simple things, depending on what they are doing though you may want to be careful

 

sucks that the 2009 isnt compatible with the 2010 or 2011 bc of the display. ive got an extra 2009 one lol
