Average MPG Display

Sorry if this has been asked before. Im new.

I just bought a 2011 Ralliart Sportsback on saturday. I noticed the avg MPG reading resets every time i turn off the car, is this normal? is there away to make it continue to save the avg until i manually reset it. id like to be able to see my MPG per tank of gas not per drive.

thanks for you help!

Yes, I believe the meter resets after something like 4 hours of the car not being on. If you have the navigation you can go to the car/travel info. I'm not sure which one but you can switch it from auto reset to manual. However, the car always returns to auto reset once you turn the car off. I know you can do it with out the naviagtion but its kind of a pain to get to. Let me know if this helped.

The only way to accurately get a average mpg per tank is calculating how much u used divided by the change in mileage since fill up.

Hold down the info button for 3 seconds, and you will enter the menu. Push the button quickly to scroll, and hold it in longer to select.

Also RTFM.

Car must be in ACC mode from what I remember. You can set the display to reset after 4 hours of inactivity or manual reset.

In the 3 years I've had my car, I haven't reset it the MPG counter once . It's pretty consistent with my math from fuel-ups too. Then again, my car is still stock.
