o2 and cat problems.
o2 and cat problems.
Alright so i been trying to get my ralliart to pass inspection..at first the check engine was on for a slow reading front o2 sensor. After that got replaced, went back for a sticker and now says that the front o2 and cat are not ready, even though i drove over 100 miles after having it replaced. I do have a highflow cat and 3inch turbo back. Can this be ignored and flash a stock tune to pass then just flash my tune back? Or what. Thanks.
This may or may not help.
Try resetting ecu, disconnect battery terminals overnight.
Then re connect & drive at least 50 miles it should clear its own. Also you can go to autozone to clear the light before you reset.
Good luck

The check engine light has been off since i changed the sensor. When the dealer plugs the car in for a sticker, then the print out says that the o2 is not ready along with the cat.(i've. Been told that if the front o2 isn't ready then the cat wont be ready either) But i will try to reset the ecu over night. Ill post results tomorrow. Thanks!
Whoops I thought I posted here. :-( I agree with risky guy! Also if the cop gives u a ticket u just go to court and show them u were trying to work out the issue and bam! Case dismissed. Happened to me before. Fixed the issue and got the ticket on the way to get inspected lol
worse comes to worse, you may need to flash back to a stock rom to pass the inspection. You'll be fine with a stock ROM and the cat back. The high flow cat ~might~ throw codes though...

my 2006 Ralliart has a p0421 code and i think its the 02 sensor as well. I has a similar issue on my 2003 Lancer ES, and it was the sensor so im not sure what to do. the Ralliart 02 sensor is a lot more money
That's your o2 sensor, use evoscan 2.8 to run codes not 2.9, it comes up with random code numbers
I'm using the Vibrant o2 spacer with the smallest pill. I can get away with no CEL for maybe a week.
I'm going to have to double it up or get a smaller pill that i'll have to drill out on my own.
I have a high flow cat as well...Sometimes, you gotta play with it.
Those custom ones usually work better because you can get stack them and have ones that have a bend too. Pretty much, you have to tune the space to let the right amount of exhaust to the o2 sensor.
On my beater, I was able to pass my regular car with the same code.
Right before I gave the car to the inspection guy to test, I reset the CEL with a OBDII scanner.
Get my sticker and the CEL comes back! ahah!
