small mods
small mods
Whats up guys i am brand new to these forums my dad owns a 2012 ralliart and where just starting to put mods into the car. Starting small, first was rally armor mud flaps. Now we want to mess with the motor a little bit i suggested the ams intercooling piping to replace the mesh. But i want to know what you guys think just a list of some small cheap mods would be appreciated. thanks

i would go with the upper and lower intercooler piping, and a new intercooler. if you are looking for cost effective i'd go with an evo x OEM intercooler an aftermarket upper piping (make sure it bolts to the evo x intercooler) and a stock evo x lower intercooler piping. you can usually find these in the classified sections of forums for pretty cheap and in great condition. that's what i did! also go with a stock evo x bpv since ours is plastic and tends to not hold boost as well. can also be bought used. i'd also go with a k&n drop in filter

Anything aftermarket motor wise isnt going to be cheap. I run the AMS intercooler and piping and I love them but you're looking at a grand to replace the intercooler and both pipes. An aftermarket bpv is a must and Im running the Evo X metal one but heard the Synapse is also good.
It all depends on what you're looking for looks, hp, etc. An aftermarket exhaust will help with sound and looks but wont help so much in the hp without getting rid of that stock cat. You can add some aesthetic mods like carbon fiber covers or titanium bolts to the bay as well to help it look good.
An intake will also not yield much hp but one can be added for looks and to help with a bit of extra noise. A tune is required after an intake install though so keep that in mind.

And a GST Basemap tune, of course!
This is my suggestion walbro 255 is $100, 02 housing it depends like $150 to $400, injectors $300 to $500. grimmspeed 3 port $100, intake $200 to $300, intercooler with upper piping and lower is between $900 to $1200, coil n plug $ 300 to $550.That small mods you can start. the rest we talking a lot of money. like cams, retainers etc.

A fairly inexpensive mod would be to upgrade the ralliart's intercooler setup for an oem Evo x one. I did this fairly early on when I got my ralliart and it was funny taking out the stock ralliart intercooler and putting it next to the oem Evo one. The evo one is significantly larger.
Also, if you aren't into loud exhausts, you can get an aftermarket down pipe and hfc/test pipe. Without the catback, you won't hear much of a exhaust note. This would also be one of the cheaper, but efficient mods for hp. Evo hfc/test pipes will work with the ralliart's stock catback system.
Search for the GST basemap on here. Razerlab and richardjh did a very good job with tunes that will work with the mods described on their thread.

Ive never heard of anyone going E85 without at least switching out the fuel pump and injectors.....
I am with jay at least you have to change injectors and pump. If not at the long run it will affect the engine. There are vehicles design already for E85 and some vehicules you have to build it and have requirement parts.
