Wheel shake / braking
I have literally exhausted myself trying to figure out my problem. Since I bought the car the steering wheel shook around 90-120km/h, new rims and tires didn't even help. Countless wheel balances, tie rods you name it. When I brake from high speeds, the wheel shakes like no other, along with a thump thump thump sound coming from what sounds like the front wheels? Does anyone have absolutely any suggestions? My mechanic has done what he can think of , it's just pointless money wasting trying to figure it out at this point.

Maybe one of the brake rotors is warped.
When I upgraded to Eric's BBK I end up with bad brake rattle. Once I got the rotor resurfaced the problem went away.
I am a car noob though, maybe someone else here have a better explanation.
Goodl luck.

+1 with kornkid42. Get another mechanic's opinion as there is definitely something going on with your brake system. It can be the rotors having an uneven brake surface or something is loose. You can have the rotors turned if there is enough thickness left or get new rotors. We recommend replacing both for optimal performance and even wear.

brakes
I had a similar problem. I went and had the front rotors resurfaced and the problem went away. Sometimes, brake pad material builds up on the rotor. It is almost imperceptible to the touch.

If it only happens when you brake, then check the brakes.
AS was stated earlier fine build up of brake dust on the surface of the rotor can cause the imbalance your experiencing.
If you get the rotors turned(usually 5 bucks a pop) then you can rule that out.
Are you running a harder set of pads or softer?
Softer=more buildup typically(not always)

Definitely sounds like brake pulsation. See if you can find a shop that's able to resurface slotted rotors (it's totally different than cutting a solid rotor blank) otherwise contact the place you purchased them from and ask for a replacement/exchange set. The difficulty in option two is they can claim that you overheated them during break-in and caused the warpage yourself...

I had this same issue when I switched over to EBC Red Stuff pads and EBC Slotted rotors. I hated driving my car. I waited a month a bought all new Centric Blank rotors and Centric pads. Bled the brake system and haven't had any problems since. I will never purchase slotted rotors again.
