Couple niggling issues

Howdy peeps

long time reader, first time poster

I have a 2012/13 model that is stock, except some weather shields lol and just ticked over the 60oookm (40oooMiles). All factory services up to date

The car doesn't seem as sprightly as it was only a couple weeks ago. It is faster if i manually shift around 5000rpm. I know the factory turbo isn't a high rpm/high flow unit (compared to the evo x) but either way its noticeably struggling to rev out when compared to several weeks ago (i don't mash it often)

I was wondering about the likely-hood of a bad cat? up to 5000rpm it is not noticeably any slower, feels pretty normal.

Also, its winter here at the moment so temps as low as 4degreesC. Some mornings as i try to drive off from home the car jerks around. Hopping along around to about 3rd gear. Its not violent hopping and only up to around 2500rpm. I would put this down to cool gearbox temps but realise there are much colder climates which this would show up if it was normal. Any thoughts?

Cheers in advance

Have you checked for any boost leaks?

Start simple.
Is the air filter blocked?

I would recommend getting the Torque App and the OBDII connector to see boost.
It may be the el cheapo plastic blow off valve, a hole in the intercooler, or a leaking boost hose/connector. I assume you have no codes. You looked under the hood and found no hoses blown off (I had that happen - but it was pretty loud - nothing 'subtle' about it )

I hope this helped...

I would not suspect the cat unless you had a misfire and didn't fix it right away...

Thanks for the replies guys

I should have added its factory serviced for whats its worth and its last service was 4 weeks ago. I guess it wouldnt hurt to have a better look.myself. There was nothing obvious.

Im.pretty mechanically competent and was hoping you'd unanimously say cat so i could justify a turbo back exhaust lol

Definitely no misfire and confident no boost leak only because tjey would be sporadic or not consistent though I will block off the bpv for a.few.runs to eliminate a.failed diaphragm.

Thanks again and if you think of anything else id love to hear it

Make sure your FPR hose didn't pop off! That's a well known issue on the Ralliarts.

Yes I will check again. I know it was on as of 2 months ago as I read up about it on this very forum.

Thanks for the reminder
