Lowering Question for all you northern RAs

Hey guys,
I am about to move to Rhode Island. I really want to throw on the eiback 1.2 front and rear shocks, but dont want to make my RA a snowplow. Have any of you guys up north lowered your RA, if so, have you run into any problems with the daily drive?

rhode island doesnt get enough snow for it to be an issue. Its also a spring kit, not a shock.

Yep springs, my bad. Is that a relatively safe setup, I know coilovers are the best way to go, but would I run into any issues with just the eibachs?

nope. Alot of us run the more agressive RRM springs and outside of a bumper top on the coil making noise here and there i haven't seen or had any complaints.

it will wear the shock quicker then the stock height but thats just a fact of lowering a car.

I'm around montreal area in quebec and since september 2009 i dropped the car with those tein s-tech for regular lancer (suppose to be 1.9 and 2.1) and the car weight 200 kilos more than a regular lancer so it's about 2.0-2.1 front and 2.2-2.3 back and no problem in the snow this winter for picture you can see them there

the major downfall to the tien springs you used are the spring rates. They arent as stiff as the springs out for the ralliart.

So my options are tein and eibach, would you say eibach is a more stiff spring than tein? I have heard that the teins, once settled, end up dropping quite a bit. I have also heard the eibachs are a little more stiff and performance based, which is really what I am looking for. If you guys know of any other springs with those types of qualities let me know. Thanks

I love my RRM springs. Got a good deal of snow in Cleveland, OH this year and being lowered didn't hurt at all.

Robispec also makes a spring for the RA that might be a little better than the others.
Coilovers would be best as you know, the BC are the most reasonably priced. I'm leaning towards them myself. Too much of a hassle to be permanently lowered around the area I live in my opinion.

Put the RRM's on my car last weekend and love them. They are pretty stiff and have a sporty feel. You should consider them. I know a lot of guys have them on this site.
