its 1" and your definition of benefit is probably not my definition.

an 18x9.5 is half an inch bigger then an 18x9 not a full inch, as its clearly stated.

And the benefit outside of almost nothing but more agressively flared fenders asthetically is nothing. As for handling, again, marginal at best. If anything you may lose some handling do yo the about of wheel weight outside of the hub.

Ive never said anything about a 9" wheel, you said to run that size and i said the wheels I want dont come in that size. So its either 8.5 or 9.5, the difference being 1"

As for the aesthetics of it, your opinion is that it doesn't make much difference. In my opinion it does. The purpose of starting the thread was to ask about fitment, not if you think its a good idea, or will look good, or if my handling will change.

i agree the thread was about fitment, but when asking that question others arise.

Like, what benefit is there. none. If you TRULY want that extra bit to stick out, and look out place, forcing you to roll front and rear, and having to flare the rear, then so be it, but it wont change the fact those wheels are too wide for our platform. If the flared euro look is what you want, then why stop at 9.5?

Now your talking, i think a 10 might be in store next.

Honestly all of this is your opinion. If I cared what others people opinion was on my car I would have posted a poll and allowed people to vote on what wheels, what size, what color etc.

^+1 it's your ride do what you feel you will love in the end!! Also wider tires means more rubber on the Tarmac so it does enhance the ride correct me if I'm wrong...

I think his comment about decreasing handling was two fold. One that because I was planning on using a 225 or 215 tire in order to fit it under the panels I would be losing potential benefit of running a wider tire on a wider wheel. And two, that because I would be running a wider rim, more weight is farther from the hub which would affect suspension geometry and functionality.

neither of these concerns I care about as my car will probably never see a track, and If it does, I wont care if a Evo X or miata beats me.
