AMS FMIC+ PIPE or UR FMIC+Pipe ?

I was wondering which should I buy? I currently have an exhaust; and just a UR intake and a turbosmart dual port bov. I was wondering if I should get either the ams or UR fmic setup? I was wondering if a tune is needed for either of them? Btw does anyone know when AMS will be visiting DALLAS TEXAS?

Personally, I would go with the AMS setup. IMO AMS puts way more time and effort into products for the Evo X and RA then any other company. You don't need a tune with that setup but if you get a tune for it you will see a much better gain from both.

This is taken directly from AMS website

The AMS Mitsubishi Lancer 2009+ Ralliart Front Mount Intercooler kit is a direct bolt on utilizing an AMS upper intercooler pipe and stock mounting points with purpose built end tanks for the Ralliart. This intercooler has over 270% more internal flow area than its stock counterpart. Our stock Evolution 10 gained 10 Wheel horsepower over the stock core just by bolting it on, without even re-tuning the ECU! Even more is possible depending on your cars current HP output. Integrated AMS Upper IC pipe with larger 2.5’ Diameter piping Bolts to the factory lower intercooler pipe or AMS lower intercooler pipe.

We tested many intercooler cores before finding the best performing core available. The bar and plate style core is 12.4" tall, 20" wide and 3.625" thick flowing 1250 CFM. The same durable, race proven intercooler core we used on our record setting Time Attack EVO, proven efficient to 650 WHP

Exclusive Features

Direct factory replacement with NO cutting or trimming required
Adds 10-20 HP WITHOUT re-tuning the ECU
276% more cross section flow area over stock!
Utilizes the factory intercooler hangers along with added supports.
Cast end tanks for smoother more efficient air flow.
All AMS intercoolers are pressure tested after assembly to 50 psi.

Specifications

12.4" tall, 20" wide (32" with end tanks and bracket) and 3.625" thick
1250 CFM flow and only 1 psi pressure drop at 650 WHP

Options

Available with or without an AMS logo stenciled on the core

If you are talking about the 10.

Look on AMS. http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...mance.com.html

" By simply installing this Upper Intercooler Pipe you can expect to see 5 awhp peak and 10+ awhp gains in the midrange over stock without even re-tuning the ECU"

I think you'll be fine. its only going to help stop that rubber hose from expanding.

I am going to get a stock dyno run then buy all my bolt-ons then get a tune, so i don't have get one everytime.

If you have access to a tactrix cable, which all appear to be hiding somewhere, you can always have a map emailed to you. But since you are running an aftermarket intake, I would suggest going to someone in your area who can custom tune your car.

I've decided to go w/ AMS intercooler kit also with the boost pill...soo does that mean I need to get tune from AMS only or can any tuner near my area can do it?

A local tuner should be able to tune with the pill. The reason I say that you should have a tune is because of the intake. Running an intake without a tune (especially one that flows more air than the MAF can account for), can make the car run dangerously lean.

If you are running the UR intake on the stock map right now, id suggest a tune before anything.

Its been conclusively shown that the intake untuned can and will be very harmful under boost.

were talking 13.3-13.7 AFR at wide open throttle, thats not engine friendly.

P.S. take it more as u better do it asap, not as a suggestion, god knows what damage uve already done.

Furthermore on the boost pill, if your being tuned, and the tuner has an idea of what hes doing... its not needed. without a pill u will hit peak boost quicker, and wont make anyless.
