just wanted to say thanks to apagan01 for hooking me up with the fluids for tranny, front and rear diff. i noticed the trans shifted smoother and also not as noisy as it was before. i'm also with piper747 and trust me you would not like what you see when you drain the old fluid out. the tranny wasn't to bad but my rear diff and front diff, man i dont even know what the hell was in there. i have an evo 8 and it has 60+ thousand miles and just did this this weekend. so thumbs up to amsoil. i going to try their engine oil next time i need an oil change.

Even after posting that I usually follow the General maintenance schedule, I decided to do this early (21,000) since everyone was talking about how bad the fluid looked coming out. I would have to agree, this should probably be done at 15,000 for everyone. The fluid had a lot of metallic particles in it and the magnetic drain plug had sludge and metal shavings all over it. I assume it was just that bad because of break-in; I'll find out in another 20,000 miles if it looks the same.

Does anyone have pics of the Drain/Fill holes for the RalliArt front/rear diff.

I have the Diaqueen Diff fluid waiting to install it.

Pennzoil Gear Plus 80w90 fluid in both, TCase and RDiff since 15k (previous owner paper work).
Now at 37k miles using same product.
No issues.

There are many good products from multiple brands that will do the job fine.

TRANSMISSION FLUIDS & GEAR OILS
Product Data Sheet
PENNZOIL® GEARPLUS® SAE 80W-90 GL-5 GEAR OIL
Pennzoil® Gearplus® SAE 80W-90 GL-5 Gear Oil is a specially formulated gear oil designed to withstand the demands of today’s stop-and-go driving. Recommended by Pennzoil for use in hypoid or spiral bevel gear differentials and industrial gear units where API Service GL-5 and SAE 80W or 80W-90 viscosity grades are specified. Gearplus® SAE 80W-90 GL-5 Gear Oil is especially suited for limited-slip differentials as makeup or refill fluid, and is an excellent replacement fluid for rebuilt limited-slip differentials.

Anyone used the Motul Gear Competition for the Transfer and AYC/Rear Diff? It is 75w140 API GL-5

Or is this more applicable? Motul 90 PA Limited-Slip Mineral Gear Oil

Thanks

Yeah this is the only known equivalent. I do not say that other oils are not good, but motul 90pa is supposedly the same thing as the diaqueen lsd.
I would trust AMSOIL severe gear for sure, many owners use this and we hear no complaints.
According to datasheet, the AMSOIL oil is thinner at cold temperature than motul/diaqueen (109mm²/s vs 140mm²/s). Having thinner oil where most of the wear happens will be obviously good for longevity..

Just to be clear, this is not a property specific to AMSOIL with this specification, it is because the AMSOIL is a variable-viscosity oil whereas the Motul and Diaqueen are sold as straight 90 weight oils.

Not to say that AMSOIL isn't a great product, as they HAVE proven themselves time and again, I just didn't want there to be any confusion as to the reason behind the difference. The same or similar test results would be expected from other oils with 75w-90 rated viscosity, as well, though I'm sure we can agree that AMSOIL is used because of its quality and longevity, not its wide array of viscosity options

Basicaly you can use what ever 90w oil brand you want but honestly who knows more the Mitsubishi engineers who actually made the car or the after market guys.
