I have only had it installed for about four days and today when I installed my new air filter I noticed the mid rubber clamping connecting the two pipes had something that looked like aluminium flakes on it? I touched it with my fingers and noticed it even brushed the injen text away.
What is this and should I be worried? Don't want flakes in my piping ..

 

its probably vibrating against somthing. mine used to vibrate against my bov after i installed my intake. id also recommend putting t-clamps and a bigger rubber sleeve at that mid point. went on a long trip this weekend and it kept blowing off

 

Here is a pic of it. I have contacted Injen to see what they got to say. Maybe something is rubbing or is ill connected. None of the other connectors have flaked just this one which is weird.

mine was like that on the under side of it. i wouldnt know what cuold rub on the top side

 

Interesting.. I will need to check if it touches the bonnet or something else weird

 

I have an Injen UICP as well, and mine doesn't do that.

 

mine vibrated against a couple different things after i did the x swap. forgot to mention that. had to rearrange everything. beforehand i had no rubbing issues

 

That definitely looks like something is rubbing on it. There's a wear pattern right up the middle at the highest point. Double check anything near it or even the hood for clearance.
