Trans Temp Gauge Location?

I have some 160deg temp probes and gauges. Where would be a good place to externally mount them? Strapped to a cooler line?

And what about the turbo - same 160deg probe and gauge...

I have seen someone use the filler (galley plug) on the top of the trans. I used both oil galley plugs on my subaru block and it was very easy to install and accurate. I can't say for sure though.

You want to put a 160* temp gauge in the turbo??? It will be cooked in 2 mins flat....

Exactly, this is an EGT gauge which measures the heat of the gas right after the turbo. 160* would barely move the needle.

Yeah.... I was thinking there might be a oil passage after the turbo or maybe i will just mount it in the bay...

I like the idea of an EGT Though!

Thanks!

Farenheit or Celcius? If Farenheit, 160* isn't even high enough to cover the potential operating range of the transmission, let alone a turbo (which was mentioned already)

As far as mounting a sensor, I was looking at it myself and planned on using an adapter something like this in one of the drain-plug locations for an AEM temp gauge: http://www.autometer.com/cat_accesso...il.aspx?vid=58
