Oil Cooler Required?
Oil Cooler Required?
I had another thread going about an upgraded SST cooler and it turns out it's something not really necessary for a DD.
Now, on the topic of cooling:
Is an oil cooler really necessary for DD higher power Ralliart's? I know EvoX have one stock... (talking about 340whp/360wtq).

Im sure there are plenty of ras out there running track days without an oil cooler. I would like to put one on though for sure. For Daily use I dont think youll need one.
Myself and another member on here have both recently installed EvoX oil coolers onto our RA's. I can tell you that the cooler, lines, and t-stat work on the RA without issue. The other member had an issue with line placement/sagging, but I didn't run into anything like that during my install. It all buttoned up into place very nicely.
The only thing that seems to need to be modified/fabricated is the mounting bracketry. The other member managed to modify the stock X brackets to work properly, but I didn't have a set readily available during my install so I made some from 1/8"(iirc) x 1 1/2" drilled aluminum flat stock. Cut and shaped to fit, it is actually quite sturdy and offers 3 separate mounting points.
Here are a couple of quick pics that should hopefully give you a better idea of what I'm talking about:

Washer fluid reservoir is gone for now. I'm thinking of converting a catch-can or some other smaller reservoir to accept the stock washer pump. Just need to figure my plan of attack for that one.
