Oil Speperators

Are they worth it for our cars? Been reading up cant seem to find much. I think they would be useful if our HP was high enough and the only benefits i see is cleaner fuel burning and less gunk building around the engine.

Is that some sort of a burping device

I use dual catch cans, same idea. Air/Oil seperators are all the rage w/Scoobies.

Gangster ****. Works like a champ:

Plus, these are nice and compact. A little satin black hi-temp paint or pc and they blend right in and look original. The weapon R units look huge, like most other a/m catch cans, and tbh I don't see the need for that much volume. If you have that much accumulation in your can between drain intervals, there are other things you should be addressing.

thanks 03chi, i went ahead and purchased the one from Pegasus. Ill get that hooked up right away!

Has anyone actually drained their catch can on a ralliart to show how much oil has been collected? and do you think its worth it to attach 2 cans? or the one will do just fine?

I have one can attached to my car on the valve cover to turbo inlet. There is another PCV worth attaching a can to that runs from the other side of your valve cover to your intake manifold.

To stop any and all oil spray from coating your intake tract its best to bypass both with catch cans. Over time you could potentially see power loss or something, but I'm not an expert on it. I run them for the peace of mind that my intake manifold, turbo, intercooler, intercooler piping, valve train, etc isn't being coated in sprayed oil.

Yet to drain mine in about 4k miles. I should probably do that and report any findings.

Here's what mine looks like. I just got black.

nice can. if only shipping to canada was not worth double the cost of the can. Seriously, sometimes when people ship I dont know why they cost so much much. When I ship to the states a small package would cost maybe 15$

Many eBay sellers are really bad for that. They are basically trying to compensate for their low pricing by jacking the shipping fees. That's why eBay started charging sellers fees for final shipping costs, along with their final purchase costs. That and eBay likes to gouge you for every cent they can...

After 2 track days and several thousand miles I got ~3-4 oz from my catch can. The intake track side doesn't really get sludge (it's more to keep oil vapor from coating the IC and piping), all fluid is from the PCV side (meaning it's not fouling my combustion event, as I'm tuned close to the edge).
Some guys do VTA type, and get quiet a lot of water build-up (20-30 oz), but I get a little fuel and some sludge.

I'll check mine out. I took it out last week and set it on my table in the garage. I've had it on for 2 years and it appeared (to me) that it wasn't doing anything. The intake, ic and piping was still coated with oil. So out it went. I'm using the Universal Greddy catch can.

Is there some sort of baffle material inside the can? That is actually a very important part of the equation that many cans fail to address
