Evo X Intercooler for my RA

So I bought my 2010 ralliart as a daily driver and to take to the track twice a year or so for some fun. I don't want to turn this into a big build but I want to do it right. Right now I have a gst base map and new boost pill and in the future the most I would probably do is new intake and exhaust. I have been reading about how undersized our intercooler is and under sustained aggressive driving I.e. Track day you can loose a lot of power. So for my meager plans for this car would an evo intercooler be sufficient or should I consider going a little bigger? As a side note do you really gain much from intake and exhaust or is it more for look and sound. Thanks for your opinions!

If your sticking with the stock turbo the stock intercooler will be fine. As for exhaust yes it will increase your HP because it's less restrictive. And for the intake you don't NEED one you will be fine with a K&N (or what other brand you like) drop in.

Disagree - You SHOULD get a better intercooler even with the stock turbo.

Agree(partially) - The Cat is the biggest restriction, so changing that alone will give you the most noticeably HP increase. Switching out the rest of the exhaust will only give you small gains.

Agree - You won't see substantial gains by adding an intake.

The RA intercooler is garbage and should really be one of the first things upgraded. All of the big name companies have forums or tests done with PLX temp sensors and they all talk about how much of a piece of crap the RA intercooler is. I could not believe Mitsubishi put that thing in there. It heat soaks after just a few spouts of spirited driving. The EVOX oem intercooler will work wonderful for you if you are staying with the stock turbo. If you are planning on tracking it I would buy an even better one. They make the car more efficient and will help your parts (IE your turbo ) last longer by slowing the process of thermal breakdown.

The Evo X FMIC with pipes return one of the best cost/benefit for you. That is if you can find someone selling the set for a decent price. I found mines for about $125. Always plan out what your going to do first, before wasting money on buying a evo x fmic then replacing it later with a larger one.

I knew I wasn't going to mod past a tuned evo x turbo so I didn't even bother doing every bolt on.
If I wanted to try to get to 350whp I'd definitely would need a larger intercooler.

I am looking for an EvoX FMIC, I am looking to do the exact same thing. Help the front end breath better. I am also looking for a UICP that is hard also. Any Recommendations?

Does the stock ralliart LICP work with the EvoX intercooler? Direct Bolt On? and/or what is the benefit to changing it? Does it need to be changed? if Upgrading to the EvoX Intercooler?

I also plan on doing the downpipe. I heard just that alone will help drastically with spool.

All will be done at once with a tune, not shooting for huge numbers, just cooler temps and faster spool.

Having the stock intercooler is fine but it's beneficial to at least go Evo X size IC as your car will maintain power at higher temperatures especially as you track (what i mean is its good in general to have a sustained cold turbo air put into your engine anyways).
