Cobb tuning/EBCS

Hey guys so I'm new on the forum I've had my ralliart for about 8 months now and it's treated me really well so far. I just recently decided to start upgrading the car, I've had the Cobb AP for a couple of months just on the stage 1 tune and it's been fine, I just recently installed the Cobb air filter and the Cobb EBCS (what the stage 2 package comes with) and when I mapped it to the off the shelf stage 2 it wouldn't exceed 9psi and was very slow. I mapped it back to stage 1 and it's hitting 25psi however the boost is uneven and the car just isn't running the same and doesn't really feel faster, it also started vibrating slightly the last time I drove it. I plan on getting it dyno tuned in about a week, will that fix the problem or just put more stress on the car? Not sure what to do and whether the upgrades were a good idea at this point.

The AP in general isn't good for the car. Your best bet would be to get a pro-tune using OpenSource instead

Also be careful who you use to tune the car. Not a lot of people are capable of tuning with the SST in mind

I ran into a similar scenario when i did just as you did, the only difference was a grimspeed ebcs.

One thing to check is if you are somehow being flashed into the economy mode.
Hold the cruise control button down for 5 secs(at a rest in park with the motor off but ignition set to "on"). Cycle the ignition and see if there is a change.

I cannot remember for the life of me what my problem ended up being. But I did blow up my Wast gate actuator several weeks later. But as you are hitting 25psui with a non-ebcs tune I would feel comfortable saying your WGA is hanging on.

Thanks for the response! Another question I have is that I want to put a test pipe in however the muffler shop that just installed my downpipe said it was a terrible idea and not to do it what are your thoughts on that?

Probably because doing that without a tune you're looking at an overboost situation. If you get it installed without tuning stay out of boost til you can get a proper tune. Again not on Cobb just because there's proper SST tables that need to be adjusted that the Cobb does not have access to.

Yes, I would recommend a HFC or the exhaust fumes will stink and you'll probably get sick of smelling it very quickly. Also, doesn't Florida have any sort of emissions laws? If so, a test pipe will not pass inspection.

If his state is anything like IL for emissions then we just need to pass the computer test. We don't get visual inspections here or the sniffer thankfully

No in Florida we have no emissions laws, cars don't even get tested. I talked to my tuner and he said a test pipe would be fine as long as I was getting it tuned which I am on Tuesday

Yes, it will WORK fine, but my point is that the exhaust fumes are going to stink pretty bad with just a test pipe and you might regret it. Ask me how I know.....
