ya, so right now I am using the 2 remaining clips to hold the hose on, nothing holding the boost pill in place. No problems yet. Will order new hose soon...

I'd definitely recommend sooner rather than later. It may not be showing any issues at this point, but who can say what will happen in the long term, or even tomorrow. Peace-of-mind is well worth the couple of bucks for a spring clip, or just spend the 15 bucks for a new assembly.

im sure you found it by now, but if it ever happens again, I have had great luck with the long telescoping magnets... they can get where your hands cant go...

Does the location of the pill in the hose matter? I mean how close or far from the Tee it is?

It should be a little less than an inch from the T- connector.

Make sure when reinstalling the boost pill that the bigger, open end faces upwards towards the outlet pipe, the smaller end facing downwards. Had a scare yesterday with this and reinstalled it backwards, overboosted and threw a bunch of codes. Reinstalled it correctly after that, car's running fine now.

Are you talking about the boost pill, or the stock pill? I just received the AMS boost pill, and to me, both ends seem to be the same size. Does the orientation matter when you install the boost pill?

The stock pill, for anyone that needs to reinstall it.

The aftermarket boost pills are all similar, both ends are the same so it doesn't matter, but the OEM pill has two different ends.

1- Locate the vacuum hose; The pill is inside this hose held by a clamp/clip.

2 - Remove the clips or just loosen them.

3 - With a small screw driver push the old pill out and put the new one back in.

4 - Tight everything back in place and voila.

An aftermarket boost pill isn't necessary, you can flash the appropriate GST basemap for the stock pill. In order to get the most out of it though, I'd recommend getting one.

To answer your question, you simply install the boost pill, immediately flash the appropriate GST basemap and drive. DO NOT start the car on the stock ROM with an aftermarket boost pill, and vice versa... don't start the car on the GST basemap for a boost pill with the stock pill.

as long as you keep your emissions components in place.
