I had the dealer install mine when I first got it. Could not bring myself to drill into the bumper and there is not enough surface area on the back to use molding tape to secure it properly (at least not the one I have).

I took my plate off the center of the bumper, took the two screw holders out, plugged the holes, measured(x2) marked and then drilled the holes. Put the two screw holders into the new holes, mounted the new plate holder.

.......do not install it yet.

i have been driving my RA all around so.cal for 1 1/2 years with no front plate.

if you get stopped it is just a fix-it ticket.

not worth "uglying up" the front of your car.

mount the plate on a bracket

and keep it under your seat ( with some mounting screws in it )

if you get pulled over , tell leo it got yanked off by a car wash....
.......and you going to put it back on when you get home

dude, dont do it, you are going to be a target for constant pull overs + the cop can usually make notes about your car. so that car wash trick will only work once lol. second time, that cop will sure nail you with everything.

I admit, I love not having a plate at the front, but even i got threatened with a ticket soon after i bought the car, then did the side mount thing.

Not having the front plate does draw more attention to you, which puts you at risk of getting tickets for other things as well unfortunately. No front plate looks the best, but the side mount is a good alternative and looks pretty good IMO any who. =)

....i actually like the way the evo-x side mount looks.

so i do not care if i get stopped.

i am just happy i can leave the front "clean" for now.

and....trust me....in the LA area....

leos have alot more things to be looking for than a car with out a front plate.

I have had no front plate since I bought the car, but I keep out of state plates...they couldnt give me a ticket for that anyway.
