Push Button Start?
Push Button Start?
Has anyone been successful in changing the key start to a push button start in their Ralliart, or EVO X for that matter? I think that would be super cool. Now they only thing is maybe it's a security hazard because anyone could smash the window and start it. Also it would most likely void the warranty. Tell me what you gus think?

Adding a push button start would require splicing a few ignition wires and such, but it could be done. I believe the new Outlander has PB start. Shouldn't be a security issue either as it would still require the fast key to start the car.
With the push button start that Mitsubishi has in thier cataloge you still need to turn the key to ON before pushing the button. Big old waste of time. But the new ASX has push button start/stop so would be good to find the tech manual to see if it is different and compatable

from what i've read, it works with the Fast key function as well. still have to turn the key to the on position, then hit the button. either way, for us fast key owners, that still doesn't require taking keys out of the pants... it is 300$ to look cool though.
edit: its evo x forum, search it

Well I came up with this because my brother got a new Mazda 3 and you just keep the key fob in your pocket and the car knows when you're within 10 feet or whatever and you click a tiny little button on the handle. Then you just get in and press the button and the car starts. Is that so hard for Mitsubishi to do? Just a little something extra ya know!

Not have to push any buttons is a great feature. Even with my old S2000 you still had to put the key in and turn, then you can push start the car. That seemed to defeat the purpose of a true push start. It was still cool though either way lol.
