Nothing wrong with someone trying to make there own set up.....

Be careful, the factory gear pump is not designed to push fluid over this distance. The SST (like the GTR) pump will need to be upgraded at sometime in the life of the transmssion. You are increasing the amount of fluid you are pushing, as well as the volume of fluid that needs to be moved. The factory system was designed to move only so much oil. If the pump cavitates or starves for oil, you cannot just change out the pump. You will need a entire SST transmission.

I would recommend using a secondary pump on your set up. FYI

I really should get on making a new transmission cooler setup. I have my eye on a plate-style transmission cooler with adjustable fan control thermostat. I don't like the idea of just wiring a fan into my fuse-box or having a toggle to turn the fan on and off.

I do like the remote-mounted setup, but as Kris pointed out, the factory pump isn't designed for this kind of thing. Now, they make pumps that are, but I would rather not screw with it.

I have all of the part numbers lined up for the setup. I just need to make brackets. Would anyone be in for that?

I tried posting a Q about the need for pump, but got no responses.
What kind of pump would you recommend, I see that the SSP kit has a 2gpm pump...

EDIT:
Something like this?

Or even better:

I'm not sure how much the stock pump can handle/what it is rated for.

That 60 psi working pressure sounds like thats too much pressure. I don't believe the stock system flows at that rate. If this were the only pump that would be one thing, but I'd be worried about applying too much pressure on the stock pump.
Does anyone know the flow rate on the stock tranny pump???

The stock pump can flow up to 200psi+ internally. Idling the car runs at 80+psi. An external pump needs to be able to have enough pressure to be able to pump fluid up hill. Stay away from diaphram pumps for hot oil. Over time they will fail. Use a good quality gear pump.

A 2+ gallon per minute pump will get the job done. Do not tie it into the factory system.

You should be ok.

how much more fluid do you think? another liter?

edit: how hot does our trans fluid get? http://www.lightobject.com/High-Temp...6gal-P511.aspx is only rated to 175f continuously

I did a 1/2 liter, it doesn't hold all that much volume, including the 3ft of 1/2" tranny hose.

Dont use one of these pumps, they are not nearly enough psi. Personally I'm not going to, but if you so desire, go with something more like :
