"because I was gonna black out the trim on the bottom of the window"

I've noticed some cars have chrome under windows and some black, is it a US / Canadian difference? or trim level or something? Mine are black from factory.

From an 09 lancer standpoint I would recommend using vinyl instead of painting the crome around the nose. After sanding, primer, 5+ coats of paint, and some winter weather it looks like POOOO!! Tried vinyl and never looked back, until cf grill.

Well I painted mine today with Flat Black Krylon Rust Tough paint. I'll tell you, taking it off is so much easier to remove the front bumper then to try to leave it attached. Will take pics
