The clutch can and WILL be upgraded in the not too distant future , its just a matter of us getting our hands on a tranny of OUR own or someone else we know of thats working on this issue .

awesome

I'm sure the cost would be close to that of a good clutch set-up and yes the install may be a bit more than a normal clutch but in the end it WILL be NASTY !!! After seeing the MR tranny opened-up in person I got excited because I knew right then and there just what had to be done to get it to make it hold some good power . I'm actually seriously thinking of getting rid of our GSR shop car for an MR , this may actually happen within the next week or two ...

The moment I find out I can put in beefier clutch and flywheel in my MR, I'll be upgrading the stock turbo and intercooler.

On the 15th of Dec. he will be back from his honeymoon, in Costa Rica. I am dropping the car off with him to install and tune a crap-ton of parts.
Here is my mod list, good for well over 400 hp and 400 tq

EvoX Forced Performance Red turbo-62lb per min
880cc inj.
HFS-5 methanol injection
ETS full pipe system; upper/lower icp, intercooler and intake
Ultimate Racing Full turbo-back exhaust
And Cosworth 280/280 cams

It is an 08' MR SST, so it should be interesting to find the limits of the stock MR tranny.
I will create a post with the Hp and Tq numbers and of problems (there will be problems)
Good luck with your set up mate, I too am going to do something similar on my SST, but will most likely be going with blouch's dom 2.0 52lb/min but without cams. I'll be placing my order on the 16th of dec so by the time parts arrive here in singapore it would already be jan! I'm keen to see how your car holds up tho. all the best!

The reason why I now want one I just wouldn't do to a customers car what I would do to my own car , so we need a transmission or the car . We have been waiting on an affordable trans for a few months now , but it looks like we can get an MR of our own so we'll see how this plays out . Either way I'm sure something can be done .

The RA owners like myself are also very keen to see what comes of this. I would consider the upgrade aswell, BRING it on!!

I am so glad to see this thread, thought I had made a mistake buying an MR with an SST a little over a week ago. Made my day.

Btw, do you know the current limit of the amount of torque the SST can handle? From what I have read, the SST can hold 270 before the self preservation system kicks in.

I know the TCU on the Ralliart Lancer limits 270wtq, I thought the MR TCU allowed for higher wtq. Wasn't AMS' tuned MR putting around 330wtq?
