Imo: this next round of goodies should be the straw that broke the tranny's back. If it's going to break.... it will, and i will unfortunately be THAT GUY.
you are definitely jesus christ of all MR owners lol

I've had what seems to be two pretty serious guys contact us about sending their cars or transmissions , so it looks like this will be getting done even if we do not get an MR of our own We will keep everyone updated .

ok guys... here's the deal... havn't had this thing on the dyno yet but... it was at 342 w/trq before this round of parts. here's the list..

AMS intake, intercooler pipes, o2 housing, test pipe, dual exhaust, and radiator hoses..
HKS EVC VI
cosworth cams and springs

So while driving from Ohio to D.C. i got a little froggy and decided to see what would happen...keep in mind that this was at about 45 mph... first off, there were no problems at all. i actually thought the tranny felt stronger and smoother than stock. WRONG!!!!!! not 15 mins later the entire transmission disengaged. the engine shut off and there i was... coasting down the turnpike. so i honestly don't know what happened, it just didn't work. It gave me a CEL instantly and a warning that had a picture of a sproket that said "maintenance needed." havn't had a chance to get this thing in the shop or to a dealer. mostly because i'm affraid to drive it now. I've been pretty disappointed about all this. so, IMO wait till somebody (hint hint hint) gets the clutch packs out before getting crazy. will update once it is checked out, along with dyno numbers... if possible.

if anyone has had a similar experience or has an idea as to what happened i would love to read it.

Do you think it's mechanically dead? Have you tried the 'Reset' button (disconnecting battery)?

As far as i know, it is not mechanically dead, but again, i havn't got it to a dealer or shop yet. after it went "clunk" i pulled off the road and shut it down. i waited like 10 min. mostly spent on the phone swearing at people for no reason, lol. but I then hit the "reset button" and she went into gear and pulled off no problem. I didn't even get her above 3,000 rpms the rest of the trip. i'm not sure if the is a serious problem mechanically or if this is just another clutch/computer problem. i'm leaning towards the latter.

I had the same thing happen to me today with the MR tranny. Went to my mechanic and he said that the CEL was tranny error. We are draining the tranny on Monday and seeing if we find any metal bits in it. Bad news is I am not running to many mods. Just for a reference I am running an HKS Drop in air filter, HKS Suction Pipe, HKS IC Piping, and an HKS Exhaust, and SBCi-Color EBC set at 23 PSI it has never been launched. I had my boost controller off so it was at stock boost and I was only moving about 40 mph when it happened. I'll post the verdict on monday but it looks like I maybe getting a GSR if it was a mechanical failure and not a computer glitch. If it was just a computer glitch (crossing my fingers) I am going to keep the MR and hope for the best. Can't wait for a clutch upgrade so I can stop being paranoid. Anyway, I'll keep you guys updated....

ya honestly I already saved the money for the expected parts price as well as $1500 for install. Now I just need something to buy . I really can't wait and see what it will hold.
