I hear you man . It sure looks like this can happen in the not so distant future , the only thing that can hold this back is not having a trans to work with . I'm doing what I can to get us a trans of our own because using a customer trans for R&D is NOT my thing unless we know the customer VERY well . If anyone knows of a trans being replaced by Mitsu please forward us that info a.s.a.p .

Well , a bit more news . I've had some time to talk to an oil expert and I'm getting some ideas for the fluid . I'm trying to move this as fast as I can but I'm sure we can agree its best to get ALL facts first BEFORE we move on anything . I will keep you guys updated as I get my learn on

I NEED CLUTCH UPGRADE. ASAP! I think my clutch is about to go, or its a side effect to overboost. I have a P1870 code.
N/M P1870 code is a side effect to over boost

Ok promised to update once the transmission was flushed clean and new fluid was installed. We found nothing out of place in the transmission fluid so a new filter was installed and 7 quarts of fluid later my car is up and running again. We have no clue why I got that error, but what ever the reason may be, I hope it doesn't happen again. I can't wait for that clutch set up to come out cause I would like to have more power and also more reliability. Oh yeah one small piece of knowledge $80 per quart for the SST transmission fluid and the transmission takes 7 quarts so just throwing this out there that is' $570 (before tax and labor) to replace the transmission fluid in the car minus the transmission filter so just warning you, regular maintenance is expensive lolOriginally Posted by JC7119
I had the same thing happen to me today with the MR tranny. Went to my mechanic and he said that the CEL was tranny error. We are draining the tranny on Monday and seeing if we find any metal bits in it. Bad news is I am not running to many mods. Just for a reference I am running an HKS Drop in air filter, HKS Suction Pipe, HKS IC Piping, and an HKS Exhaust, and SBCi-Color EBC set at 23 PSI it has never been launched. I had my boost controller off so it was at stock boost and I was only moving about 40 mph when it happened. I'll post the verdict on monday but it looks like I maybe getting a GSR if it was a mechanical failure and not a computer glitch. If it was just a computer glitch (crossing my fingers) I am going to keep the MR and hope for the best. Can't wait for a clutch upgrade so I can stop being paranoid. Anyway, I'll keep you guys updated....

and probably something else which he discarded .. likely P1235 (actual code from
is MAF plausible code .. if he used generic OBD he'll get fuel pump low or something)So far (SO FAR) my experience on this was NOT THE TRANS .. but the airflow sensor or the Airflow mapping .. no worries ..
Only heard of 1 ACTUAL SST failure (replaced under warranty) but I do not know the whole story .
