A CVT is a completely different design and SHOULD NOT be compared with the SST. The SST is designed for speed and accuracy on top of being as capable as the CVT for holding TQ/HP. That's the main reason you pay more for it amongst many other reasons.

Still working things out with one customer , we're looking into other local options which we can handle pretty fast . We have been very busy moving into a new location but we will be back on track with this fairly soon .

Getrag is now bankrupt, aint it? so maybe Mitsu will now be able to take it apart

 

interesting, so next gen SST will be different for sure. I hope its an improvement

The part of Getrag that filed for bankruptcy was solely for a joint venture with Chrysler.

 

I assume since I read this entire thread there is still no upgrade for the SST? Is there an alternate Tranny that will go in that will hold more HP/tq?

I am running right around 350awhp with the sst and have had zero problems. It's been about a month. I will let u guys know if I have any problems.

 

How much torque? That is the killer with the SST.
