That was a funny case - ON how NOT to do business

The hole on top of the upipe was made OFF center - it was welded together with the hole off to the side so it would not line up to the turbo

As a result i had to port each turbo i put on with a oval hole

Also - the lower weld cracked - (which most WRX upipes will do over time) - so i had ot welded up

When I tired to warranty the upipe with Shiv they refused - they said welding the lower joint voided my warrnty on the top which was never touched

I guess they take after ???

Anyway - things like this are why I offer a 100% unconditional satisfaction warranty

The CUSTOMER is always right with me - if your not happy - return it and get back your cash - end of story - no excuses

I really think that everyone is missing my original point of this request. I didn't know that the article was an Evo tuner shootout. I would just like to see a moderated comparison of the two different ECU/Engine tuning techniques employed by Vishnu and DynoFlash. Works should also be included in that list, since they have a reflash as well.

On another note, the theoretical one that everyone's discussing as to what makes a true tuner - isn't the word "tuner", as in "someone who tunes the car" and not "aftermarket parts manufacturer", as in "someone who designs and manufactures parts for cars"?

Actually my office is very nice

Since I am at pruven almost every other day - including today - there is no reason to buy a dyno

I prob have dyno tuned more Evos than any other tuner in the US - I just finished my 282'nd reflashed Evo today

A totally stock evo that went from 209 whp to 258 with just the Dyno Flash - not a bad gain ?

I agree with your definition 100%

We should have reflaher's contest one day - - lock all three tuners of reflashes into a dyno facility and see what they can whip up on the same evo - that would be fun

In any event - like i said above - I am going to orgainze my own tuner shootout

Its going to have some interesting twists to it and ALL the tuners will be invited - - my goal is to really find the fastest, best handling, most amazing Evos you can find - - - NOT just provide a promotional opportunity for my buddies and people who buy ads in a magazine

Here we go again. Another bashing. I thought this was to see if who would like to see Dynoflash vs Vishnu. I would like to see all tuners small and large get a chance to put up or shut up!

To be fair, the bashing had started much before that.

I remember back in the day when I had some BMW's - including a M5 and 850i and i used to buy parts from a great tuner Dinan - who's stuff is amazing (but costly)

Only later did I discover that a lot of the stuff they had listed in their catalog they didn;t "make" or "manufacture" Like the "limited slip" rear diff for the 850 which was a off the shelf BMW M5 rear diff with a few hundred added on - and the Extrude honed stock bmw intake manifolds for the v-12 850 which I could have gotten directly - etc etc

I think what a "tuner" does is offer a service to the normal car owner who wants to go faster. The "tuner" has the info - the experience on how to make the car faster and suit a particular purpose and style of driving while mainatining dependability and durability.

To say that a "tuner" who does not produce actual parts should not be included is ridiculous

At this time we offer a lot more than reflashes - here is a short list of what we sell

Fully ported and machined race heads
Built motors
Stage One kits from my www.dynoflash.com web site
Racing rotors
Buschur parts

We also do installations and custom work on a car by car basis

In conclusion - I think it is obvious that for example - VISHNU - makes or manufactures almost NOTHING of what it sells - - it is just branding and labeling the vishnu label on something some other company made

Instead of buying brand X and putting my label on it - I choose to just install and sell Brand X directly - - or even better let my client shop around get the best price on the best parts - eg HKS or Buschur - and then i just install it and tune it

In my mind - a tuner installs parts to hop up and engine and tunes the engine to make more power

Since I have a legitamate business tuning Evos and have tuned over 282 of them - I think I qualify as an Evo tuner
Man, if I had a dollar for each lie in this post, I wouldn't need to work

You're class act Al

I haven't weighed it yet since the first few prototypes are already on cars. I suspect it won't weigh more than 4-5lbs though. As for price, ask us in Feb when we actually get our first batch ready for sale. I'd hate to give prices at this time only to be off when the time comes..

Cheers,
shiv
