That is the whole point of this patch. It is going to simulate the rear o2 heater signal, therefore the ECU will think that there is still a sensor attached. You will have to run an o2 simulator, like the one found in the v5.10 Tephra roms, or Mrfred's separate o2 sim.

I've been pretty busy at work, so no patch yet at all. Hoping later this week I can get started.

Beer sounds good. :-) Just give me a call or PM when you are headed this way.

Yes, dexmix has been testing it. Its working properly. :-) I just need to spend a bit of time preparing a patched ROM and the tables. I'll probably post it up tomorrow evening.

Maybe you can PM/post code sequences to see what you have changed?

Yep. I'll do that. The quick summary is that I wrote a new subroutine that simply calls the OBD-II reset routine when engine speed is less than 2000 rpm, and that's it. Doing it this way saves some ECU cycles for other things. :-)

I'm guessing this would present a "not ready" status to emissions testing equipment then?

...Does it wind up resetting any other status or is the call specific to that code? I'm guessing the ECU doesn't call the check when above 2k?

It shows "complete" in OBD-II diagnostics. :-) My subroutine replaces only the rear O2 heater OBD-II code. This technique of calling the OBD-II reset routine can be used for any OBD-II test though, so for any OBD-II test that cannot be fully disabled using a periphery bit, this is the simplest solution to obtain a "complete" readiness status.

Correct, it doesn't call it above 2k rpm. No point in wasting ECU cycles on something like OBD-II diagnostics when going WOT.

Sorry for taking so long to get this posted. A *stock* patched 88590015 ROM and the accompanying xml definitions are in the link below. Add the definitions to your ECUFlash 88590015 definition file, open your current ROM, and then copy the table values from the stock patched ROM to your current ROM. Flash to your ECU and no more rear O2 heater CEL.

tephra, do you want me to email you a copy of the source code?
