And this is why I may have to go with an FP3586 as my next turbo. A turbo meant to be big. not knocking the black because there have been good experiences with it but it just seems a bit too picky. on the upside, my red has done great with my setup. SO much low end and mid range with the stroker...I just want some more top end.

I spoke with FP about the turbo issue earlier today and they will be fixing it under warranty. It appears the reason it failed IS due to the fact that I was running Mobil One 10W-30.
I will be switching to Brad Penn 20W-50 or Amsoil 20W-50. FP was very adament about using Brad Penn oil versus everything else.

I never got a warranty card im Positive Fp knows who I am and my build maybe ill call them and ask to see whats up. Sorry about your turbo man but you know the saying When it rains it pours boss. So you have no choice but to fight though this and get it right. Dont forget your having to build your motor anyways so rather have it done now then have it all back together and then bam its done.
Yeah I'm kind of bummed - but at least they are taking care of me

I have a new found respect for guys with any car platform putting down more than double the stock WHP...it takes a lot of time, money and agony to make it happen.
You hear about builds 500/600/700 WHP - your like ehh I've seen more WHP before...but have YOU actually ever done it. It's life consuming to say the least....haha

. Well its only got 6 months before it expires anyway. Most of the last half will be during the winter time when I dont really get on it so it should last.

Question about cams to those reading/following my thread....
Here are my options:
1) Keep my current HKS 272 I/E cams
2) Buy the new Step 2 HKS cams 274/278 - which outperform all of there older versions (280's included)
3) Buy Kelford 272's
4) Buy the new cams from STM
Thoughts?

I'm having a hard time deciding on which oil to go with.
I don't mind spending the extra cash on the AMSOIL just because it is a full synthetic unlike the Brad Penn oil.
If it costs a few more bucks each oil change and it will protect the internals of my motor and turbo a little better, why not?
How did you decide on the Brad Penn? Because of FP's recommendation? Do you have a built motor?
I guess either way, both are on their approved oil list
