trying to decide between the two

I am trying to decide which one I want to do to my Evo. I am having a hard time deciding between the Aem Ems or the Exede i know they are diffrent as i have researched them both. but my concern is the tuning in the Aem, while i would eventually like to be able to tune it myself, mainly i would get it professionally tuned and forget about it until i upgraded. the exede makes it seems like i can just download a new map. can you guys help me with the pros and cons of each of the two systems?

thanks and look forward to a good discusion

if you want to tune it yourself the UTEC might be a good option its features are very similar to Xede and its about the same price AEM EMS is from what I hear a great product too but its 2x as much as the others and it is a full stand alone not a piggy back chip like the Xede and UTEC

Not to steal your tread, but how would emission be affected using XEDE compared to AEM EMS? I have the same question as edtxag, about which system to go with also. I want to mod my evo, but not worry about step learning curve that might be associated with the AEMEMS. So can someone clarify the issue of how much trouble shoting and maintance comes with the AEM and compare it to the XEDE? thanks

I know I will be flamed saying this on a AEM forum but as I can tell the following statements are all facts..

You will not pass emissions with the AEM EMS...no ECU no OBDII data.

There have been several people in CA that have passed emissions because of re-location with the Xede installed...

If you can't pass....remove the Xede and try again...

Xede seems to be the way to go if you are concerned about emissions and the future

Buy whatever your local tuner is using. If you don't have any local tuners then the XEDE is hard to beat due to all the maps that are available for it.
