AIT sensor wiring question
AIT sensor wiring question
I got the pin to hook up the AIT sensor but do I need to also wire the ground wire to a certain spot or can I use any sensor ground? Also, is there a way to just use the factory harness to wire it into? How do most people do this? The EMS came with the simple instructions how to hook up the map sensor but not the AIT sensor. Thanks!
I was looking through the wiring diagram for the EVO and it seems that the wire that is R-L (Whatever color that means
edit: Red and Blue) is the AIT sensor on the stock harness which is also leads to the same pin (72) for the intake temp for the EMS... but the sensor ground is strange... the stock way it does it is through the MAF Ground... would this be ok.. the EMS diagram says that is a ground... not sensor ground. Anyone know is this good enough?

Basically both wires are spliced into the maf sensor. Black wire/ and blue- red wire

Thanks, sounds like I was correct after all
Just wanted to be sure this is how most people do it. I guess I should finally go out an plug the stupid thing in and start it up now

Did you already have a map/.cal ready to go? I havent had much time tomw=ess with mine. But after 2 weeks the car isnt running great, lol. Are u still using the rochester 756 injectors?
i was told that they will be to small for the 35r

I am using whatever Buschur sells.... I think he is selling the Denso 720s as the 780s (Renamed due to fuel pressure?)? They are too small yes. I was maxing them out at around 26-27 psi but hopefully I will be able to get more out of them with the methanol I am injecting now. I also went out and raised the fuel pressure a bunch so that will help.
I made a map that would work with my car before I got there yes. Its just a slightly modified base map though.... runs very rich from idle to cruise. Obviously i havent done much tuning yet
My biggest problem is my laptop I am currently using can not handle the EMS so it takes 10 minutes to change anything

Damn, that must be an old laptop. I just got a used P3 666mhz for 250 0n ebay, no problems with making changes on ems. The battery only lasts like 20-30mins. tho. Have to get a car adapter then everything should go smooth. Then see how the boost comp thin goes once the idle and cruise are dialed in alittle better. The 280 cams dont sound nearly as nasty with a richer idle, not sure if thats a bad thing tho.
My idle got perfectly smooth.... but now it doesnt seem to like to catch it and sometimes it dies. I need to work on the map alot still but it works ok. What do you mean by the boost comp? My laptop I got for free.. its a p1 with 32megs of ram
I am getting another freebie Some Duran 800 with 256m mem so I will be ok. Yes a car adapter is a neccessity for tuning with these things

Instead of tunning the fuel map cell by cell, you would use a boost comp maping. There is a sticky in the aem tunning forum by blkmajc. You go to fuel, advanced, fuel trims, then boost correction fuel. basically if you have a good tune for "a" amount of boost, this table at double the amount of "a" boost, you would have double the fuel. Simple enough, tho the vaccum areas need adjustment for me. But im a newbie. BTW, u still have the maftpro?

I see
I still have the MAFT Pro for sale yes... I am running on the EMS now though. Hard to get the EMS to run well in some cases though. I am still learning the engine start crap. Its hard to tell whether it is flooding the motor or starving it. The other problem is the injectors I have are PTE 780cc and there is no preset option for that.
