o2 question

Ok, I ordered an EMS and the wideband o2 and have a question with the o2s. The best place to put the wideband woud be in the location of the pre-cat o2, correct? So the plan is to put the wideband in place of the stocker, or does the EMS use the stock o2's. Also, a lot of people are using test pipes, does that effect anything?

When looking through this AEM forum, there were things about using the MAF or converting to map, am I right on that, whats the differences between using them.

Thanks for the help.

Matt

I would actually just put it after the cat in the second location. The stock location of the first o2 seems a bit too close for it to last long there. Test pipes don't affect anything other than the ozone and your ears.

I personally would convert to map as it makes more sense when your tuning and the stock maf is a bit quirky.

best place for the wideband o2 sensor location is before the cat, and at least 18inches away from the turbo

So would it be bad to put it in the outlet housing? Should it be further down in the down pipe?

After I had the bung welded on to the downpipe, it only took me about 30 minutes to reinstall the DP, run and splice the wires, and mount the gauge.

Has anyone else noticed how long these AEM 02 sesnors last? I am amazed at the life span I have had on my race car - and this is even using race fuel with lead - great job aem
