o2 bung on midpipe ok to use for wideband?

i know the most common place to in install a wideband is to put an o2 bung on the downpipe, but for some reason i have an o2 bung on my midpipe (hks carbon ti). Will this be ok to use with an AEM UEGO? or will the readings be inaccurate? what if i put it on the cat and put the factory o2 sensor on the midpipe?

thanks a lot for all input

readings will be inaccurate. Just stick with it on the downpipe at a 3 oclock angle.

The Evo VIII factory O2 sensor went into the midpipe. That is why HKS put the bung there. For the IX's Mitsu moved the O2 sensor to the cat.

It should be fine in the mid pipe as long as you don't have a cat and any exhaust leaks before the WB sensor.

The cat will lean out the WB readings so it won't be accurate. The ideal WB location is on the DP right before the cat to keep it away from the turbo heat. If you run a test pipe, then you can put the WB in the test pipe or in the midpipe.

The sensor in the cat on the IX is only a cat monitor, O2 is in the...02 housing sure they read the same thing but serve a different purpose. I would try to keep the sensor as close to the turbine outlet as you can, that way you get the most accurate reading.

The aem wideband sensor should be at least 18" away from the turbo and at a 2 O'clock (10 degrees) position.

It's been answered, no reason to bump your thread. Put the sensor on your downpipe. Follow sikrsix's instructions.
If you put the sensor any lower than 2 o'clock on the downpipe, condensation can collect on it and ruin it.
