USB Serial adaptor

k most laptop computers now don't have serial ports but they do sell usb to serial adaptors but Ive heard these are not safe to use and can fry your AEM .. Please advise as my laptop does not have a serial port and I have been using a clunky port replicator that has a serial port.

The best thing to use is a PC card to 9 pin serial adaptor. The car fits in the slot like a wireless internet card and has a cable coming off (9 pin serial) to hook to the EMS. I have a Sockett brand that is brand new in the box I bought for a buddy with an EMS and he stiffed me. PM me if you would like to buy. It is the ruggedized tough version.

I called up AEM and they told me to get "I/O GEAR" adaptor. Your local Walmart should have them. IF, not target has them for a little more..
