2step didn't work, what did I do wrong?

So I tried it, got the info from Banks thread, but it didn't work. I changed the fields in the Options - 2step rev limit to:

input: switch is always on
fuel cut: 6000
ignition cut: 5000
OK below vss: 5
retard rev: 4950

I only got to test 2 times, once was in neutral with the clutch out, ebrake on, and in 1st gear, clutch in, ebrake on. Will that make it not work, the ebrake? It is with a friends laptop and I was at his house, it was loud so I stoped, with only the 2 tries.

The other thing I wanted to try was changing the input to V speed on. And where is the hard cut option at, I can't find it.

And do you have to change the fields to match in the Options- Main R... window?

Thanks

As far as I know, you have to have the car in gear at below the set mph. Or better yet from a dead stop, clutch in with 1st gear then step on the accelerator till it starts to bounce off the rev-limiter (making boost) Then side step or dump the clutch. Mine backfires quite a bit and makes about 12 psi of boost off the line.

ignition cut: 5500
OK below vss: 1
retard rev: 12000

And my Main Rev-limit is:
Fuel Cut 8100
Ignition Cut 7900
Fuel Cut Load 35.12

i dont know if its like al (dynoflash) 2-step, but i noticed if the car is not COMPLETELY stationary, it wont work

the car needs to be completely stopped..any sort of roll and it doesnt work, the rpms will shoot to redline. My buddy's evo which was tuned by AL is the same way

Yes, slight slip until it removes the drivetrain slack, then quickly release the clutch. Keep your foot on the gas pedal the whole time.

I was dead stoped and had the E brake on. I wasn't flooring it, or even at half throttle, maybe a quarter, will that affect it. Do the settings I have look correct in that it "should" be working?

And thanks for all the replys

Ok, I was thinking about it, I have an 03, so there is no factory 2-step. Now how does the factory 2-step work? Is it off a switch and thats why everyone said the setting should be "switch always on". Or should mine be "V speed on" since thats how I would have to do it?

Or with my settings should it be working???

try this setting.

input: switch is always on
fuel cut: 6000 <---change to 5100
ignition cut: 5000
OK below vss: 5
retard rev: 4950<---change to 12000

maybe it'll work for you.

If you set the input as switch is always on there are no mechanical switches that must be tripped. No clutch switch, no in gear indicator, etc. If you're under the VSS you set the 2 step will be on.

Unless you understand what retard rev does and you're sure you want to use it, set it to 12000 as others have mentioned.
