It seems to only be a problem when used over time, for example, doing several hours of cruise tuning, etc. I find that if I'm in and out quick, or just doing a couple quick logs, it works fine. But eventually the cal file starts to change on its own. Everyone I've asked about this that has several years experience with AEM says the USB adapter is the problem. Until I get off my *** and get the PCMCIA adapter working, I won't be able to verify the fix myself.

The only thing I'm doing on my AEM is just changing rev limiters and the 2 step.....
my tune is pretty much dead on....

I guess I should be ok for a while...

Where can I get the PCMCIA adapter?

Yeah, you should be fine with that. If you do notice things gone wacky, try reloading the cal file to the ECU before wasting time troubleshooting it. The last example with my car was the idle going too high. Higher than the closed loop idle max rpm, like 2500. For some reason the ISC table got porked. Reloaded the cal to the ECU, and everything was back to normal. Still kinda scary, what if the timing table gets all jacked up some day?

I got my adapter from Newegg.
