Who has tried Series2?
He just told me that they have found the issue and are working to fix it. Didn't really tell me what it was. I've noticed slight misses in other areas but not near as bad as right at 2,100. It's horrible. Feels like I'm hitting fuel cut.
Guess I'll have to wait. I had to send the unit in for the resistor replacement and full checkup due to all my issues. They received it last week on Thursday or Friday so I am eagerly awaiting something...
I am curious if my unit is new in the box if I should just send it in. My supplier told me that not one of these units have worked properly out of the box. Guess I will be holding on to my Series 1 for a while longer....
Unreal... AEM is really beginning to p!ss me off! A couple months ago it was a couple of weeks for the update... A couple of weeks ago it was a few days for the update. And now today was the projected update release date... no update!
AEM WTF over?
AEM WTF over?
I've been told they are very busy by one of the techs. I never got my tracking number for my Series 2 return so I am in the dark when it's actually coming and no email communication for the past several business days
Frustrating...

Frustrating...
They did it... Just checked the AEM Forums... AEMTuner 2.0 and firmware 1.17 is available for download...

7. Improved Rev Limiters (01v17 firmware)
8. Simplified Dwell Control (01v17 firmware)
AEMTuner V2.0 – Improvements since V1.91:
- Improved Auto Display Layout feature.
- 2D table header column width now stored in workspace.
- Improved control when resizing 2D or 3D displays.
- Added menu item to show current workspace name.
- Reorganized “File” menu to minimize mouse clicking for frequently used tasks.
- Improved algorithm to access calibration 2D/3D table more efficiently.
- Option displays now compatible with hex format options.
- Smart table conversion added to minimize the number of items users must update in their calibration file when converting to firmware version 01V17.
- Fixed bug that caused the “+” key to make a beeping sound.
- If the scrollbar was visible, displays sometimes would not snap to grid when moved. This is now fixed.
- Fixed bug that kept options table display layout preferences from being saved in workspace.
- 2D/3D Display split information is now stored in workspace.
- Fixed bug that caused an error when displaying Series 1 EMS v1.19 calibrations. Note: AEMTuner is not 100% compatible with Series 1 EMS hardware.
- Fixed injector and coil phasing options display bug.
- Menu items "save workspace" and "save calibration” now disabled when workspace or calibration is not modified.
Firmware 01V17 – Improvements:
- Quick start feature improved for Mitsubishi, 1G/2G and EVO8/9.
- Fixed bug causing inconsistent idle behavior on vehicles using stepper motor type idle control valves. These include all Toyota and Mitsubishi applications.
- Fixed cranking mode bug that caused inconsistent injector firing.
- Fixed boost target displays for proper function with units of psi.

Ok another update.
My misfires and hesitation issues are being investigated by the engineers. I was able to catch some really severe cutouts around 2000 and 2100 rpms while holding a stead pace no acceleration or throttle movements whatsoever. It's not just there that it happens but that was extremely obvious to them and now its being looked at.

I was having similar hesitation issues (2,000 - 3,300 RPM)... maybe too soon, but 1v17 seems to have resolved my issues. Have you had a chance to assess?
Has anyone noticed if the idle motor parking issue has been resolved? Still to early for me to say yes or no. But initially, I want to say start ups are better with 1v17.
Thanks,
J. Church

I was running an internal release of firmware v16 for several days before I sent it in for other issues (wrong resistor on the coolant circuit) and the misfires. Startups were greatly improved to maybe 1 in 15 starts it wasn't the first try. It did have a slight sluggish kick over on the actual fire at times on the initial hit but it started almost every time. I reported this so hopefully they fixed that or maybe it was a slight fueling issue.
Idle issues were resolved with the v16 also so it caught idle all the time. I purposely tried to get it to screw up a few times and it wouldn't.
Having played with Series 2 for a while on Evo's and been tuning it on 2 Supra's lately had be on a quest to dial my Series 1 in even better and I actually improved the startups considerably but it still can't touch the instant start of Series 2.
I hope to have answers this week sometime!
I will be updating my firmware from the internal release of v16 that itzwolf and myself had to v17 and report back if the issues I had are gone.
The new firmware should make EVERYONE's start/idle exceptionally better. The ecu will now sync before engine RPMS are seen. Before it took 2 revolutions for the ecu to start syncing but now as long as the ignition is on it will try to sync, once it see's revolutions it will stat sync and fire right up. It usually takes my car around 1.5-2 revolutions to fire, instead of the 4-6 it took series 1.

Well so far so good. After I updated it I tried to start it and it fired then died, after a few quick checks over a few of my tables were zero'ed out. I'm blaming that on not having a proper update script from v16 to v17.
My 2,100rpm miss seams to be completely gone. I drove around for a bit and tried to make it happen and it wouldn't. Starts seam to be consistent and the idle is good. Overall i'm pleased.
Only one issue. If you get into the Output Options and try to close it an error pops up and you have to manually close out of AEM (through ctl+alt+dlt) because it gets stuck.

The misfire issue is very pleasing to hear! What about above 2100 and in the 3000 to 3300 range?
The Outputs issue I commented on AEM forums:
"I haven't connected to an ECU yet but the Outputs menu doesn't give me a problem opening it just to look at it. Were you connected to the ECU when this happened? I wont be able to test any Series 2 connections until earliest tomorrow on one of the Supra's I tune unless my box happens to be delivered today..."
Did you uninstall AEMTuner then install or install over the old version? I uninstalled and started from scratch again. Still working on the workspace changes I like...
