If you are using the AEM pcm set up will you still get a check engine light if there is some thing wrong?

 

Can only bump once a day.

 

It depends on what your definition of "something wrong" is. You can set up a low or high side driver to trigger the light to come on based on certain conditions but its usage is a little limited.

 

the check engine light in plug and play for the shift light. setup/ advanced/shift light.

 

You can setup the CEL to display in certain warning conditions.

Lean under WOT
Coolant temp high
Overboost

You have to manipulate the Configurable Output settings.

 

In other words, you live and die with how set-up your AMS EMS. The factory CE light functionality is gone! So how do you tell that something is wrong? You now have to know and understand how things work and what they are supposed to do when everything is fine, in order to recognize a problem…

 

i had a similar problem when i bought my evo the other day. everytime i touched 7k my check engine light would blink. finally figured out it was a shift light

 

i will be using my check engine light to show that i switched my map settings to race gas set up.
