AEM serial guage

Anyone running the AEM serial gauge and how do you like it? Can alarms be set up for different items such as oil pressure and coolant temp?

I have two serial gauges in mine. Works great! I couldn't figure it out but Lucas with Carz did. Maybe he or someone else that has done this can shed some light. I don't think alarms off the serial gauges can be setup but I know AEM can do certain triggers and have that output to bright LED's or buzzers.

Cool thanks guys. I would like to have something that really screams at me when things like a coolant temp reach a critical point since im too focused on the track and not the gauges.

I am currently using the serial guage, and I love it. Mainly, I use it for the wideband because I have oil temp and pressure guages right above it. Well worth the money IMO.

I know this is relatively old, but I installed a serial guage into my buddies EG hatch yesterday. The install instructions show a bunch of different alarms for each setting, so I am relatively sure you can set up alarms for those stated above, although I'm sure they are already set up that way.

Per the AEM Instruction Manual:

Open AEM Pro and connect to the EMS. Wait for the EMS to finish downloading. Left
click on “VIEW” and select the telemetry wizard from the wizards drop down menu, see
Figure 3. In the telemetry wizard, left click on “AEM Serial Datastream Gauge: and click
OK, see Figure 4. Close AEM Pro, connect the serial gauge to the EMS, and cycle
power to the EMS. The EMS is now configured to output data to the gauge.

Using the Gauge: The gauge comes pre-configured to display engine speed, engine load, throttle, air temp, coolant temp, O2#1, and vehicle speed. The gauge also stores the min and max value for each parameter. The two buttons on the front of the gauge (see Figure 5) allow the user to switch between parameters and view min/max values. The functions for the buttons are listed below.

Right button: Displays next gauge, moves in forward direction
Left button: Displays next gauge, moves in backward direction
Press and hold right button for 2 seconds: Displays max value
Press and hold left button for 2 seconds: Displays min value
Pres and hold both buttons for 2 seconds: Clears min/max values for displayed gauge
Press and hold both buttons for 5 seconds: Clears all min/max values
User-selectable alarm values include qualifiers to eliminate false warnings
User-selectable alarm priorities in the event multiple alarms are triggered

- User-selectable alarm values include qualifiers to eliminate false warnings
- User-selectable alarm priorities in the event multiple alarms are triggered

My understanding is you still need some type of warning indicatior (buzzer, LED, etc) triggered by the EMS to actually display a warning condition.
