AEM V1 + Speed Density stalling on start-up
AEM V1 + Speed Density stalling on start-up
I bought this car last October and basically have kept it in my garage to hibernate through the winter, and everytime when i try to start it when its cold, the engine will crank for about 4 seconds, start-up, and then almost instantly stall out. Is this a common problem for SD? I have to depress the throttle for about 15-20 seconds for it to not stall out throughout that time. 93 tune, dual fuel pumps, 1000cc injectors AMS fuel rail, 2.3 stroker. Any ideas?
Did it start up fine and stay running fine the day you bought it? Was the battery left on a battery tender during its winter months? Log your starts and idle and see whats going on there.
I used to have a problem where my engine would die right after it started. Mine would die as soon as I let the key return to position II after cranking. I got a new battery and now I keep it on a battery tender and no stalling problems.

I have a PC680 and its a very small battery, I feel like it might not have enough juice. My problem with that is I only have the battery bracket for that small of a battery, Im not sure how i could make a larger battery fit in that bracket. Unless I found an OEM bracket.
It was tuned by Buschur. Although, before I got this car, my friends Evo was tuned by him and had weird throttle problems afterwards, then he went to Motion Lab and gained 15whp over Buschurs tune.
I was thinking of going E85 late this year, and going to Nate at TPG. I know he does good work with AEM.

I had the same problem with mine and very frustrating. I spoke to Kevin @ EvoDynamics in Lewisville and he informed me that was a common problem. I was hesitant switching to a stock ECU due to the build. I decided to switch and could not be happier.
