AEM EMS V1 Evo 9 Can’t Start
Hoping this gets some traction as I’m at my wits end.
I have an Evo 9 with low miles and it’s been sitting for 5 years with occasional starts. I’ve never had an issue though I never drove it far due to it needing new brakes. However, within the last year it stopped starting. I finally was able to get a mechanic to take a look at it and start diagnosing. Here’s what’s been done so far:
- Fuel pump checked, found to be working.
- Fuel pressure regulator replaced.
- Connection hangs when trying to connect to OBD2
- Sent ECU to AEM-recommended third- party for inspection, EPROM was replaced and tune reloaded.
When I plug in my stock ECU, it will start for a second before stopped due to it running so rich on my 720CC injectors. My mechanic says it the spark and fuel doesn’t get a signal on the AEM EMS. Is this still a bad ECU then? Should I replace the crankshaft sensors and cam sensors, though I’m not sure it will help? Not sure how to proceed.
