Stroker motor without rebuild?

Can your stroker kit be installed with stock bore pistons (or even the stock pistons) without rebuilding the motor? can it be installed from "underneath" without having to remove the motor completely?

forgive me if either one of these questions are stupid.

Here is a quote from AMS Stroker thread:

We can offer .020" pistons but you'de be shortening the life of the block. I'm doing an engine build article for modified magazine now and that should hit the stand in a few months.
I would highly recommend pulling the block to get everything double checked on it and ensure all the clearences are right on.

In order to replace the crank which is necessary on a stroker you need to pull the motor. A 2.0 build you can just drop in the pistons and rods from the top. A quick light hone will help break in the rings better
