front sub-frame

With the Addition of new lightweight items you guys looking into making a aluminum lightweight front sub frame? it would be easy to do clutch jobs and remove the t-case. The stock one is huge i have no idea how much it weights but it gets in the way some times. I know the Power stearing rack is conected to it. Its just a idea on saving even more weight!

An alluminum one would have to be HUGE. If we did one, it would be tubular steel. The idea have definatly crossed minds here, but its not an easy part to design, build, test, perfect, produce, ship, buy, or install.

But....I'm not saying no! Do you guys think there is enough interest in this part that we should look into it?

i would say crome-moly im sure all the big guys would get it. Look how many CF roofs you guys sold. I would think it could save a ton of weight. and easyer installs/disasembly for guys when they break something at the track. Be easyer to pull the t-case out im sure. Who else is intrested in this besides me???

I know of a company that used to make them for DSM's. They saved a lot of weight and made a lot of room but were very expensive. They only made a few of them and I know of only one or two that are still around.

Remember that what you are asking for is going to be very expensive and they need to look at the majority and not the minority. I think it would be a cool idea but I think when people see the expense they might pass on it. Is it something they can build, make semi affordable and is it going to be something they are going to truely be able to sell a ton of?
