Hey all, just want to see who lives in the Toronto area since most of you guys are in the U.S.

I've been driving my Lancer for 5 months and everyday now I surf on this forum learning more and more about modding. This is my first car and I've never done any moddings before but there are three mods that I really want to do right now so I need some help from people in the Toronto area if possible

- H.I.D head lights
- pulley
- intake

Being a newb at modding and car maintenance in general, I am looking forward to meet friendly lancer owners in Toronto who can give me advise and tips with these mods. I will need to bring the car to a garage since I can't install the mods myself so recommendations are appreciated!

I am also scared about the pulley in the long run (even though everyone on the board has been saying good things about the RRM pulley) because the service specialist at my dealership say the pulley will ruin my engine/drivetrain warranty.

My dealership say I can keep my warranty for intake but my lights will not be covered if I do H.I.Ds.

So I guess my questions are how safe is installing the pulley in the long run and is it worth voiding the 10 yr/160000km warranty on the engine for it? And if I don't have the warranty on the lights is it expensive to replace the parts myself?

Dont do the pulley, stick to other bolt ons such as an exhaust that are less likely to interfere with warranty. Second a part has to fail first and be proven that the mod upgrade caused the failure.
Rule of thumb if you dont install a mod you do not understand.

Stick to simple do it yourself bolt ons that are pretty simple.

 

Hey I am no expert but like evosoul said don't install stuff you aren't familiar with. If you need help with the intake I could give you a hand I am in Markham area. It should only take 1/2 hr max. As for the HID's I would recommend going with silverstars until your warranty is done, they still give you a nice blueish white just not as bright as the HIDs. If you have any question about interior mods i could help you with that too.

-red emblem (paint or vinyls)
-de-badge "mitsubishi"/lancer
-6000k HID
-white led parking bulbs
-2500k yellow fogs(maybe) or full led/hid?
-GReddy Ti-C exhaust
-custom sri
-Powder coat rims (gun metalic grey. or ne colour suggestions on black lancer?)
-tein s-tech springs

I'm in Scarborough, if you need hook ups to HIDs I can help you out, I got 8000K on my 06 lancer, we can meet up and you can check it out if you want.

I also know a few guys that does intake and other mods, let me know if you're interested

lol scarborough/markham... i went to worldbowl the other night and saw 2 other 08 lancers... not including my own...

 

at metro square today lunchh =) saw a black lancer HI!! hahaha

 

I'm in the market for a SRI and HID's 8000k lows and fogs let me know a price and we can work something out.
