dead crx for spool

As we know spool is selling th OZ for something faster and his realization came after he lost to a crx. well last night on my way home from work i pulled up to a light and a rice out, neon glowing, chrome hubcapping, street racer windsheild stickering crx revs on me. Now i am been have the same doubts as spool, about craps loads of money and no real horsepower. so i decided to go with this guy. Now i don't no if he was a bad driver, i was to busy driven my own car to look. but it was the second time ever i got the tires to screech goinig into third. the point is after a good launch, and a few redlines he was behind by a car length by the next light.

i wrecked a crx on the highway before i even put my intake on, so it shouldn't be hard to beat one with mods.

t-dot, what do you have done to your car that you can squeel into 3rd???? i can barely do it into 2nd

Not selling anymore......doing research into swapping the engine....that V6 thing you told me is very intriguing.....if i could find a 2.4L V6 and fit it in, even if it cost $10,000 it'd still be worth it.

its good that ur keeping the lancer.

wouldn't be better just getting the intercooled turbo from RRM?

my next spring, i'm planning to purchase that, sexcellent investment.

Well I'm looking to make a little bit more power than the intercooled turbo from RRM could offer. At 6 psi the kit will make 180 whp, add some internals and stuff and maybe you can get 220hp.....but where can you go from there?

you gotta understand I'm really used to cars that are above the 250hp range. So I'm aiming to get this car to 250-300whp. Nothing more because I know all about torque steer and bending the chassis on small cars like this.

I just think adding the 6a12 V6 from an FTO would give me a leg up on the competition. Sure it might be expensive to do, but hey part of the reason I want to do this is because I like making unique cars. And while everyone else with the cash is buying RRM turbo kits, I'll be swapping.

I'm just worried about this engine we have ever since my shop tore it down and took a look at some of the parts inside and the prospects of trying to go fast in this thing.

I'd like to be able to make reliable hp without going turbo and as far as my research goes, the 6a12 is capable of creating wicked hp and still having plenty left to spare when you turbo it.

Take your pick:

I-4 Sohc 2.0L - 120hp 130tq
V6 DOHC 2.0L - 200hp XXX

And if my crappy japanese serves me correctly there is a company that makes a stroker kit that will bring the engine out to a 2.3L, more displacement more torque happier spool :>

Best of all RPW recommends the swap on there site, and since it's listed as a top 3 swap, it is a lil expensive but very very do-able.
