Oil change: Know a good mechanic in Toronto?

Just what the title suggests. I have a Ralliart that's almost at 6000km now. Yes, I know, I probably should've done this 3000-5000km, but I was very busy.

So, know any good mechanics in the GTA? Thanks.

5000km is fine depends on the driver, how you drive the car, and what oil you use.

spirited drivers recommend 3000miles because of their driving style. average driver never exceeds 4000rpm in a week, while some of us exceed that daily therefore causing more wear and tear on the engine and the oil.

what oil you use it up to you. but where? beleive it or not i take my evo to Wal-mart for a 25$ oil change, i watch them do it and they are very professional about it, and made sure my car cleared the ramp so they dont damage my front bumper......now other wal-marts may vary.

i personally run Royal Purple, its a fair compremise between paying and extra 20$ for Redline and Motul. 12$/L vs 16.50$/L

you did change the oil and inspected it after the initial break-in right?

Try iGarage on Bullock Rd. I went there today, was pretty happy with the service.

Thanks. Any other recommendations?

And no, this is the first oil change. And I do go above 4000rpm on a daily basis (or should I say, on a red-to-green light basis :P).

If that's the case, change your oil today. I personally drain immediately after break-in (first 800 kms, and then 2000 kms, and then every 3000 kms)and solely use Amsoil Signature Series 0W-30 ( product code:SSO-QT) with Amsoil EAO filters. It costs me 17$/litre and 22$/filter, but it comes with the peace of mind that I can rev and boost the **** out of my engine without worrying about my oil being the weakest link. It's cheap maintenance IMO compared to a rebuild.

You're driving a really good car here, so do give it some really good maintenance and the best oil you can afford.

Don't slack on your x-case and tranny oil changes. Change em now as well, you'll appreciate the peace of mind.

Cheers

Phil

K so I've decide to take it to my dealership, and the only reason is because the panel that shows the lights and mileage and all that is dirty but from the inside, so I have to get it cleaned under the warranty.

Oil change: $89 including filter and oil (I think it's Mobil 1, 0W40). Does that sound too expensive? They're also going to do a wheel alignment and tire pressure check. I should probably decline those.

They'll be using Mobil1 5W30; and it'd be cheaper to the oil change if you bring your own oil. If you want to stick to Mobil1 its on sale at Canadian Tire 4.4L for 29.39 (link)
and they will charge about 27ish @ the dealership for the change and oem filter.

You'd save some money that way. Then again, it depends on the person - some people couldn't be bothered to source out the Mobil1 on sale.

No I'm definitely FOR saving money I saw the saving. It's going for $29.39 for 4.4 L. Now please help a newb and tell me how much of it I need to buy. Is 4.4L enough?

Also, which filter do I have to buy?

THANKS
