Thumbs up Finally got around to making my own grounding kit...

Well, after months of slacking off, and even buying one from happies on the forum, I was at Active Surplus down on Queen Street today, and just for the heck of it, decided to buy some materials and made my own grounding kit.

12 feet of 4-gauge power cable, and 14 ring connectors = $25.

And here it is, after half an hour of elbow grease. My Dremel tool made cutting the cable so much faster too.

Getting my car back tomorrow (hopefully) after my little fiasco (https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...threadid=59679). Need to install MAS adapter & filter, and get that grounding kit in. Will take pictures of engine bay when all done.

Also, if anyone is either:

A) too lazy to make their own.
B) doens't have access to stereo cabling

I'd be willing to make kits for everyone for the cost of materials, plus a little gas money for me to make the trip downtown, and shipping.

$30 CAD + shipping?

Got the kit in yesterday. Couldn't ground the back of the head, but did the tranny, and engine hoist.

Throttle response is better, less lag from when I put down the pedal and when the car starts pulling.

Maybe b/c it is 4 gauge wire, and he does not have wire cutters to do the job..

FYI, the dremel with a heavy duty cutting wheel works wonders. I suppose they dont sell them in Canada

I only have a normal pair of wire clippers, not heavy duty enough to cut 4-gauge, and I wasn't about to run out and buy a pair just for that.

And yes, the Dremel with the emery cutting disc cuts through that 4-gauge like butter.

yes we have dremel's in canada and i use one all the time at work thanks.

sure not everyone has a set of 4AWG cutters in their drawer, but the point is that even side-cuts would have been better. with the high heat applied to the wire from the dremel, you can actually damage the electrical properties of the wire, sort of the same as corrosion does.
