Ground Fusion Grounding Cables
Ground Fusion Grounding Cables
I was intersted in a obtaining a grounding kit for my Lancer so I checked around and did some homework. After looking at several options I decided to check a company named Ground Fusion to see if they had a kit for our Lancers.
I talked to the owner, Tyler, and it turned out he didn't have one for the Lancer. So we set a date for him to use my car to test fitter for a grounding system. I went up there yesterday and he hooked me up with one of his kits. It took him about two hours to measure, cut, crimp and install all of the wires andit looks so great!
About the cables:
- He uses quality thick gauage cables, the same used in auido set ups.
- He crimps the wires, applying 400lbs of pressure to each connector, ensuring a good connection.
- He used all of the stock grounds he could find and just piggy backed them, leaving the stock grounding wires on. (So if a dealership wants to hastle you they can't cause you left the stock on)
- The cables he used are just that, cables, not wires. The stock grounding wires are thin and cheap.
- All of the cables loop back to the negitive on the battery.
- The wires all connect to one another, they are daisy chained or linked for a better ground.
- He offers several colors (something to keep in mind if you're a show and shine ho bag) and said that he could even get speical colors, but the price would go up. (I chose the red cause red is the hotness, and girls like red)
- He makes all of the kits himself.
What I've noticed:
- Idle is much smoother
- Before the car used to flux between 800-1000 rpms at idle at times not anymore.
- Acceleration is much smoother, the butt dyno says so and it is always right.
- I've also noticed a boost to my ego and self esteem... I've also lost some weight. no, that's not right... sorry...
- It makes the engine bay look much nicer. You'd be surpised what a little color does for the engine bay.
I'll post some more things after I've drive a bit more.
Tyler told me that it will take him a bit of time before he has directions made and is ready to start selling the kits. His kit is quality though, not like those faked Ralliart ones on Ebay. I'll post pics sometime in the near future to show you guys.
Also he told me he makes a lot of these for the Scion TC guys, Evos (of course), Srt-4's, IS300s and several other cars. It's a pretty cheap mod, considering, and is really easy to do. I suggest it to everyone.

Right now his website is down for some reason but I'll post up pics as soon as I can, today or tomorrow.

Now for what I noticed while driving today. I had the chance to, um, shall we say push on the car a bit, but what I noticed was that aceleration was a lot smoother. To me it is a good improvemnt. Also I had the AC blasting with my stereo cranked and my lights on and the lights didn't dim as they used to. I'll go out to my car tonight to see if the gauges are any brighter. But I would highly reccomend this kit to whomever would ask. And it looks good?

Are those all the grounds comin off the negative terminal. I could be wrong or he may have wire differently than Ive seen in past write ups but I thought there were more grounds than that. Just wonderin like i said i defenitely could be wrong
Rather than the "butt-dyno" I would like to see some real numbers from a real dyno. I also invested some time into researching grounding kits. After a long long search I decided to make a kit that followed Mitsubishi's kit for the lancer(The rest seemed like universal kits no matter what they said). I noticed no improvement in power or acceleration. The idle was smooth, but b/c of the warmer weather here now I reset the ecu about a week prior to installing and it was idling great then. Needless to say, I removed the kit shortly after. It felt like to me that it was actually robbing power through out the rpms. I would put the grounding kit under the same catagory as I put "sticker power" hahaha. But N-E-ways, if you want to waste time and money on another usless "mod" just go to a local car audio store and they can hook you up with everything you need for under 20.00 ( I got 10 feet of 4 gauge and 15 gold platted connectors for 11 bucks.) Like I said someone needs to dyno these kits, and not claim 15 whp on a h.o.n.d.a.

Specifically pay attention to the cables on the valve cover and transmission to see what I mean. There you will see that there are two cables that are connected on the valve cover. Going right it hits the transmission, and then goes back to the negitive.
The cable that runs left along the valve cover leads to the left headlight ground and to other grounds... That cable then runs to another ground point and another cable and so on, all the way back to the negitive. Get it?
The wires don't just splinter out from the negitive and hit one ground but they all connect and loop back from the grounding points back to the negitive, this, from what Tyler told me, makes a secure and effective ground. I think there are about 7 or 8 points he hit including the transmission, the valve cover, the headlight, the and battery and more but I forget. I'll need to take a closer look to see what else he hit.
But from what I've seen his kit looks better then others, cost less then the uber expensive ones, and uses quality cables- I've not had the experience from the others but this one delivers! He's done his research on this and it shows.

I totally forgot to put down the website. Ground Fusion
I noticed something the other day when I was filling up on gas... my miles were at 312 and the light hadn't gone off yet. I'm not sure so I will post again after I go through a full tank to let you guys know but I think I'm getting better gas mileage!
