hey guys, just recenty bought myself a 04 lancer es and was wondering what the typical mileage (in km's) should be on new cars on delivery. now mine had 300 km's on it already and was wondering if this was too much.
thanks in advanced.

i think Mitsubishi does somewhere around 7-10 for testing. I had 14 on my ES when I bought it, but it wasn't even unwrapped yet.
It may have been moved from another dealership. 5-speed ES' are 1 in 60, if yours is 5-speed they may have had to bring it in for you.

They do some driving to test the car and make sure everythign is okay. Plus moving it around the lot, on and off the trailer, go to fill it with gas. 300 seems a little steep are you sure you didnt buy a demo or one that was used for test drives?
When I bought mine it had 40KM on it, but it was because it came from another dealership. If there is 300KM on it that is too steep. Chances are it was a demo. Ask them when they got it in. If there was only a month between when you bought it and when they got it in, then its a demo for sure. If your city is anything like mine then that demo was bagged to **** on those test drives and I would go back and argue until they refund part of your money. A dealership can not sell you a demo unless they tell you it is one and your okay with it. It is illegal to sell demos to people who don't know and charge them full price, regardless if they have fixed anything on it or not.
I got mine with 28km and that included shiping it from brampton directly to my house in wpg. in shipping they put 5km on it. I signed for it at 23km so it was all good. yeah 300km is alot, most likly demoed a couple times, scarything is that a "new car" can be sold with up to 4000km and still be considered new. forget where i read it but i found the doc somewhere on the net.

Anyway, I wouldn't really worry about it. The ES is not the kind of car that people are going to take out for a joyride and thrash to death. I'm sure those miles were not too hard on the car.
