I've been using stage 2 with everything stock since October (when I got the AP) and it's been running fine. I've experienced much less knocks with stage 2 map than the stage 1 map. I'm not sure what the gain is but I *feel* like the stage 2 pulls much harder than stage 1 or stock. Stage 2 LWG gives me about 22-23 psi when it's cold so I use that in the winter.

Now I'm confused as hell. I have on 08 Evo X MR and was about to order my Cobb AP. Is it safe to use on my stock car? That was going to be the first thing I bought for my car, should I wait until I do an exhaust and go to stage 2??

We are talking about the 2011 evos as the tunes on these are different from the 2008-2010. For a 2008 you should be ok with running stage 2 on stock

Can someone post what the timing difference is in the 08 stage 1 vs 11 stage 1? I tried to load 11 in race tuner, but I think it knows Im 08 and it wont load.

For any of those who are running the stage 2 map on their stock cars I would like to know if you guys have done the removal of the stock boost pill that is on the solenoid vacuum line. There is actually a video on cobbs website that says for anyone who is running stage 2 maps to do this to their car so that the car can actually achieve the set points the map dictates.

I too am interested in trying the stage 2 maps on my stock car (2010 MR) but I wanted to see I I had to remove the peice prior to reflashing.

Stage 1 and 2 work as they are designed and rarely have knock

Understood, but there aren't any Stage 1 AP maps for 2011 GSRs even in your beta directories 17 months after the 2011 GSR was first sold. This being the current reality, do we go with Stage 2 or non-Cobb solutions? Hollywood suggests Stage 2, but I don't think he has a 2011.

2008 stock evo x. just switched from stage 1 to stage 2. LWG. Pill not removed. Boost peak 25psi-25.3psi. Switch it. Pulls harder. No knock. unless I try to jerk the car to produce knock.

I just wish someone from Cobb would address this. If people are getting better results on stage 2 with a stock 08, what is the risk of doing so? Why are people getting less knock(I know timing is less aggressive)?

I dont like running a map that was designed for mods that I dont have. I have very little knock on stage 1. I am tempted to try it, but wish Cobb would either shed some light or give the 08 some map updates.

DEFINITELY feel that higher torque from stage 1 to stage 2.

And. I just pulled the pill. not much difference except it allows me around 0.6-0.8psi more on the boost. AND boost comes SOONER. Around 500rpm.

DO IT. FLASH stage 2 NOW guys.

- 93 oct
- full boost at 4600 rpm (24.4psi-25.5psi) LWG.
- Less knock.
- higher butt dyno torque
- boost sooner and safer
- pill is optional but I pulled it and flashed LWG with Access tuner disabling rear 02 cel.

Is it necessary to disable the rear 02 cel?

I'm running Stage 2 +SF 93oct on my Stock 08 GSR with an ETS intake. Stage 1 ran like crap, Stage 2 feels like it picks up MUCH better. Logged little to no knock compared to the stage 1 map. And yes I removed the boost pill, consistently peaking at 25.2psi. I am getting a pro tune in a couple of weeks when my AMS turbo back exhaust gets put on. I wonder how much quicker a pro tune will make my car compared to the Stage 2 I have on it now.
